Issues of Literary Translation

This book is a collection of papers which I wrote on literary translation. This book has, in effect, two related objectives, namely, analyzing the difficulties facing translators of literary texts and the strategies they adopt to produce a communicative and acceptable translation, and how this can be of benefit to course designers responsible for designing literary translation courses in the translation diplomas at the Arab universities where literary translation is taught as a full independent course. The papers selected focus on analyzing the strategies followed by professional translators that should be incorporated in the courses in question to contribute to the professionalization of the translation training offered to the learners and novice translators enrolled in such courses.
