The unknown grammatist Ibn Saber

The use of the term “Al Khālfh” appeared in the division of the word by Ibn Saber. The term “Al Khālfh” was initiated by Ibn Saber as a fourth component of Arabic speech. Syntactic books talked about him and became famous among the modern scholars. Despite the popularity and importance of this term, the books of translations and modern studies did not provide a complete translation for Ibn Saber. The current study began by extrapolating what was said about Ibn Saber in all the heritage books, and it was found after the research that there is confusion in its translation, it was mentioned twice at “Safadi” and “Al Mqqarī”, each time in a different translation and in a different name, one says “Abu Jaafar al-Qaisi Ahmed”, and the other says “Alhafez Deyaa Aldeen Almalki Mohammed ibn Mohammed”. Thus, it is necessary to gather what is different about the translation of Ibn Saber in an analytical study, revealing the disorder that occurred in his translation, and know his life and opinions, so this study came in two topics: The first topic is “Introducing Ibn Saber”. The second is “His grammatical opinions, his writings and his poetry”.
