The term executive functions refer to higher order cognitive process that underlies self - regulation and goal - directed behavior ; including working memory, response inhibition, set shifting, abstraction, planning, organization, fluency, and certain aspects of attention. Although, for a long time it was believed that the core cognitive deficit of ADHD was an inhibition deficit and that the core deficit of RD was of phonological nature, it became more and more clear that this is not the whole story for either disorder. This book, therefore, assesses the executive functions of four groups; ADHD, RD, ADHD+RD, and control group, we tried to search for any neuropsychological dysfunctions that could be characterized as each group and the main effect of each group on the neuropsychological functions. So, this study would be beneficial to professionals who are interested in studying executive functions of children, parents of children with ADHD and RD or anyone else who may be interesting studying executive functions.
