Historically, gastric adenocarcinoma has been one of the leading causes of cancer mortality worldwide. In the 1930s, gastric cancer was the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States among men and the third leading cause of death among women. Fortunately, since the end of world war II and following a global trend, especially in developed countries, the incidence of gastric cancer has been steadily declining, and it can be said that no malignant disease can be found that has undergone such a declining course. This cancer was still the leading cause of cancer deaths in the world. The question here is why, despite the declining global trend in the incidence of gastric cancer, it still brutally kills its patients? The answer is that, unfortunately, gastric cancer is often advanced at the time of diagnosis and the 5-year survival rate is less than 10%.Therefore, we clearly find that by recognizing the risk factors (risk factors) and precancerous lesions (precancerous lesions) and proper screening of patients, this deadly cancer can be diagnosed much earlier and as the incidence of this cancer is decreasing, we can reduce its fatality.
